A Note to Our Amazing Parents & Guardians
Keep rallying those pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters — our Classroom Coin Wars Challenge is under way, and we couldn’t be more excited!
This isn’t just a fun way for our students to compete and show their classroom pride — it’s also a chance for us to give back to an organization that has made a huge difference in our school: United Way. Thanks to their incredible support, we were able to welcome Ruby, our beloved therapy dog, into our school family. 🐶💙
Ruby has brought so much love, joy, and comfort to both students and staff — she’s truly become a star around here! United Way generously covers all of Ruby’s expenses, including vet care for the next two years, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
So now, we’re hoping to return the favor — and we need your help!
We’re inviting families to check couch cushions, clean out cars, raid the laundry room, or shake out those piggy banks for any spare change you’re willing to send in.
Every coin counts toward helping a wonderful organization that’s done so much for our school and our students. Let’s come together and show our appreciation — and maybe stir up a little friendly competition between classes while we’re at it!
Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our amazing school community. Let the coin wars commence! 💥💰🐕

Early Dismissal for Sheridan Grade School is 11:15 am. Have a wonderful evening and an even better weekend!

If you wouldn’t mind taking a moment to fill out these brief surveys, we would greatly appreciate it. The Village of Sheridan has applied for a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant to improve the bike and walkability to school.
Our goal is to gather helpful information from families and community members so we can make strong plans for adding accessible ramps and sidewalks throughout town. These improvements will help our walkers and bikers travel safely to school and stay off the roadways.
Your input is valuable in making this happen for our students and community.

Join us on Monday, August 18th for "Unpack the Backpack Night" from 3-6pm.
We will have visitors from Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Soccer Cleat Exchanges, PTO will have popcorn, the library will be there to get library cards going, opportunities for back to school pictures, information on feed his children, lots of back to school supplies and backpacks.

We are excited to share some wonderful news — our school has welcomed a new four-legged friend to our community! Meet Ruby, our new therapy dog.
Ruby is a 10 week old gentle and loving English Doodle who will be working to support our students in a variety of ways. Research shows that therapy dogs can help reduce stress, promote emotional well-being, and encourage positive social interactions. We believe Ruby will bring comfort, smiles, and joy to our school each day.
Some of the ways Ruby will be involved include:
Providing emotional support during the school day
Participating in reading and literacy activities
Offering comfort to students during challenging times
Helping promote a calm and welcoming learning environment
Student participation in activities involving Ruby will always be supervised and optional. If you have any questions or concerns — including allergies or comfort levels around dogs — please let us know so we can make appropriate accommodations.
We can’t wait for you to meet Ruby and see the joy she brings to our students and staff!

Also attached is this year's meeting dates, we hope you will consider helping out or attending meetings, PTO is a great organization that helps provide funds for some of the fun and exciting events and opportunities for our kids! Come see what they are all about!

Good Afternoon Guardians/Parents,
We understand that times are hard, prices are on the rise, and sometimes it is hard to know where our children's next meal is coming from. We are looking to help with that through the feed his children ministry.
Their motto is, "hope starts here."
This organization is going to work with Sheridan Grade School and Harding Elementary to send supplemental bags of groceries through the school system to families who need a little extra help once or twice a month. Whether you are in need temporarily or all year, we are here to help as much as possible. The families that are signed up will be passed along to the ministry and the school will offer the choice of parent pick up times or allowing the teachers to discretely place a bag with food items to take home up to twice a month. This information will be kept private and discrete.
If interested please take a moment to fill out this brief survey/form to let us know you are interested and we will touch base with you on more information as it comes in.. First deliveries are early September and will continue throughout the school year.
We are so excited to provide a chance to give back to the community and help ease a small burden by knowing our children will not go hungry.
