SRO Deputy Tongate Carries Flame of Hope

This weekend, Deputy Tongate carried a torch - lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion - into the opening ceremony at the Special Olympics Summer Games. In addition, she had the opportunity to run in the final leg of the Torch Run and hand out medals to the athletes.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an international movement symbolizing courage and celebrating diversity. Each year, nearly 100,000 officers around the world participate in the Law Enforcement Torn Run.

Deputy Tongate noted that it was "incredible to see what all of our fundraising [SMS 2026 Polar Plunge] made possible" and that it was " awe inspiring and just an incredible experience!"

The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Deputy Noah Hancock and his new K-9 partner, Kodo, on their graduation from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Academy this past Friday. Deputy Hancock and K9 Kodo have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and teamwork throughout their training. We are proud of their hard work and commitment to serving our community and are excited to see them begin their partnership in protecting and serving the citizens of LaSalle County.
